Accessible Great Yarmouth

Great Yarmouth is a surprisingly accessible seaside destination. The flat seafront promenade, level town centre and accessible attractions make it a welcoming choice for visitors with mobility needs.

Flat Seafront

The entire Golden Mile promenade is flat, wide and paved, making it fully accessible for wheelchairs and mobility scooters. There are dropped kerbs throughout and the promenade connects all the main seafront attractions without steps.

Beach Access

The central beach has ramp access from the promenade. While soft sand can be challenging, the hard-packed sand near the waterline is more manageable. Gorleston Beach also has good ramp access.

Accessible Attractions

Most of Great Yarmouth's main attractions offer good accessibility. The Sea Life Centre, Time and Tide Museum and Merrivale Model Village are all wheelchair accessible. Check individual venues for specific facilities.

Getting Around

Mobility scooter hire is available locally for those who need it. The flat layout of the town centre and seafront makes Great Yarmouth easier to navigate than many seaside towns.
